Janice has been hard at work on six different sculptures – Onegin by Tchaikovsky for her opera series that she will eventually display and sell in opera houses, a bust of Dave Levington (former superintendent of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School), the French cabaret singer Annie Royer, two brothers, a head of John Emery, and a small figure of a teenager.
She continues work in the art room at the Boys and Girl’s Club in Dorchester and also at the Victory Program’s Boston Living Center, a help center for HIV and AIDS victims. She also continues to teach classes to adults and children at her home studio and drop-in life drawing class Monday mornings from 9 to 12 – call her at 978-460-3274 for more information.
Further, she has been commissioned to do a couple of sculptures and has also been working on small (6″) portrait heads in terra cotta with a bronze patina finish on a stone or wooden base.
Right now, there is a 50% off special for commissions for small portrait heads – $250, down from $500. Janice is very good at getting a likeness, even from pictures.
